HELPING SENIORS IN KANE COUNTY
Many seniors live alone and need assistance. Our goal at Kane Senior Council is to help seniors live independently as long as possible. The services that we provide seniors in Kane County help with food insecurity as well as keeping them active and socializing.
Our main service at Kane Senior Council is to deliver meals to home-bound seniors. But we go beyond providing meals.
Below are some of the other services that our staff and volunteers provide seniors.
SERVICES WE PROVIDE
Meals On Wheels
Many seniors have difficulty shopping for food and preparing their own meals. As a result, they might skip a meal or eat poorly. This is where staff and volunteers make a difference by delivering nutritious meals right to senior’s homes.

Pet Food & Assistance
Many seniors have pets to keep them company. But when seniors have trouble taking care of their pets, it can cause them great stress. That’s why we help out by providing pet food assistance. By helping our seniors take care of their pets, our seniors are happy.

Well-Being Checks
Many seniors in our community live by themselves and it can be lonely. It can also be dangerous. Our well-being check service checks in on these seniors so that if they are experiencing an issue, we can reach their emergency contact so they can get help.

Intergenerational Activities
When different generations come together, everyone is happy. Our Intergenerational Activities program connects young people with our seniors by initiating fun and special activities and events.

Keeping our seniors active mentally and physically is a goal of ours. That’s why we offer Health & Wellness Education to help to keep our seniors healthy and in the know.

Community Dining
We have many active seniors who like to get out and socialize. For active seniors, we will be offering Community Dining Centers throughout Kane County where seniors can gather together at lunchtime, make friends and share a meal.
